The streets of Alice Springs that had grown quiet following a 72-hour “public disorder declaration” erupted in violence on Wednesday afternoon, as dozens of people fought in the CBD with weapons, including machetes and spears, before police were able to restore order.
Five people were arrested over what the police are calling a “violent disturbance” involving family groups known to one another.

Action for Alice on Facebook does a good job of reporting on crime incidents, and there has certainly been a great deal to report on during the curfew. Perhaps a story that sums up the crime incidents during the current curfew could be presented? You cannot trust the Minister for Misogeny, Eva Lawlor or NTPOL to report on it since the news will completely erode any benefits of the ‘curfew’.
