The corruption investigation into how troubled water bottling company NT Beverages was gifted $10 million of taxpayer money just before it went out of business has been shut down due to “jurisdictional” issues, ICAC Michael Riches said, referring the “concerning” matter to the Chief Minister for further action through a different body.
Mr Riches said in a report released late last week that he could not investigate a company called Infrastructure Capital Group – the company that managed the $200 million Infrastructure Development Fund – and its $10 million investment in NT Beverages, because it was a private entity, despite receiving Territory taxpayer money.
