Sex assault suspect still on the run since Wednesday night

A man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman after entering her Palmerston home on Wednesday night is still at large, while police appeal for the public’s help to track him down.

NT Police said the incident occurred around 10:30pm on May 29 at a residence on Sibbald Crescent, Woodroffe. The man and woman reportedly “exchanged words” before the man entered the house and allegedly sexually assaulted the woman.

The alleged assault is currently being investigated by Sex Crime Unit detectives.

“The male is described as being aged in his late 20s to early 30s, Aboriginal in appearance, approximately 170cm tall, with a stocky build and medium-length afro hair,” police said in a statement.

“He was wearing a light-coloured singlet, dark shorts, and grey sneakers.”
