‘Bad news for the NT’: Greens blast federal environmental law changes in Darwin
Proposed reforms to federal environmental laws will fast-track controversial gas expansion projects in the Northern Territory without proper public consultation, federal Greens Leader Larissa Waters has warned while visiting Darwin, adding the reforms amount to deregulation of industry that will be particularly devastating for the Northern Territory.
NT Police release anti-racism ‘action plan’
An ambitious plan to eliminate racism in the Northern Territory Police Force has finally been released, with dozens of identified actions to be implemented over the next two years despite expected pushback, including reducing racial profiling, empowering Aboriginal communities to address and reduce crime and accepting that previous policing practices have led to distrust of police by Indigenous people.
One thousand public hospital workers to join planned mass walkout: Union
Health support workers plan to hold protected industrial action within the next 10 days, which could seriously disrupt the operations of NT public hospitals, the union has warned.
