NT Police hold fears a Caucasian woman in her 40s may have been abducted in Howard Springs on ANZAC Day and are calling for information from the public, after the woman was allegedly seen “being coerced” into a white Toyota Hilux.

Police said the incident occurred around 6:30am on Thursday on Thornbill Crescent where it was alleged the woman, described as Caucasian and in her 40s wearing “athletic attire”, was coerced into the Toyota Hilux by “a man and woman of Aboriginal appearance”.

The vehicle then reportedly left the area.

Police received a report of the incident about two hours after it occurred at around 8:20am yesterday morning.

“As of now, no missing person report has been filed, and police are in the process of verifying the information,” police media director Mark Wilton said in a statement.

“Anyone who suspects that someone they know might be missing from the area this morning or anyone with information regarding the incident, especially those possessing CCTV or dash-cam footage of Thornbill Crescent around the time of the incident, are urged to contact 131 444 and quote reference number P24112816.

“Anonymous tips can also be made through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via https://crimestoppersnt.com.au/ .”
